Are you a history teacher keen to learn more about using the latest ICT developments to enhance teaching and learning?
Would you like the opportunity to spend the day developing your skills and some interactive materials with an award-winning, full-time classroom practitioner?
On Friday 21st May 2010 (from 9.45am to 3.30pm) I will be running a one-day, hands-on course giving practical advice at Parity Training in Central Birmingham on how to integrate ICT effectively and easily into the history curriculum.
Each delegate will not only receive their own computer for the day with full internet access, but also a wealth of resources on a 2GB USB Memory Stick to take away. In addition, a restaurant lunch at Chez Jules is provided. The course will cover the most recent developments in ICT and incuding such things as:
• Web 2.0: How it can lighten our workload
• Social Bookmarking, Words and Image Based Software
• "Cloud Applications": Google Docs, Google Calendar, Google Reader, Google Alerts
• Digital Video and Audio in the history classroom - creating, downloading, sharing
• Podcasting and Blogging with the minimum of fuss
• Generating your own interactive classroom materials simply and effectively
• Wikis: Benefits for assessment, monitoring and collaboration
In the past five years I have trained over 350 history teachers all over the UK, the vast majority of whom have rated the courses as "excellent".
