Friday 24th October 2008: "Using ICT in History" - a hands on training course by Russel Tarr of ActiveHistory.

Are you a history teacher keen to learn more about using ICT to enhance teaching and learning?

Would you like the opportunity to spend the day developing your skills and some interactive materials with an award-winning, full-time practitioner?

On Friday 24th October 2008 (from 9.45am to 3.30pm) I will be running a one-day, hands-on course giving practical advice in Birmingham on how to integrate ICT effectively and easily into the history curriculum. Computer facilities, a full training pack and lunch is provided. The course will cover the most recent developments in ICT and will cover such things as:

• Using Microsoft Office to teach historical skills
• Digital Video and Audio in the history classroom - creating, downloading, sharing
• Generating your own interactive classroom materials simply and effectively
• Social Bookmarking: Sharing links between students
• Wikis: Benefits for the history classroom
• Web 2.0: How it can lighten our workload

In the past three years I have trained over 200 history teachers all over the UK, the vast majority of whom have rated the course as "excellent".

There are only 20 places available on this newly-updated course, which has sold out the past three years!
