LEONARD BAKER COLE (1892-1897 : 36), Captain, Army Veterinary Corps, was the youngest son of Mr Baker Cole of the Crescent, Bilston.  After leaving the school he studied for his profession at the College of Veterinary Surgeons in London.  For a time he was in practice at Wednesbury and Bilston, and later at Margate and Ramsgate, in partnership with Mr Lyne Dixon, whose daughter he married.  His wife and one child survive him.  After considerable service in Egypt and Palestine he was sent to France, and there, not far from Amiens, he died of wounds on May 9th 1918.
