DENYS STUBBS WEBB (1908-1913 : 19), Second Lieutenant in the 13th Battalion, Cheshire Regiment, was the younger son of Mr W H Webb of The Wergs, Wolverhampton.  While still under 18 he joined the South Staffordshire Regiment and, having been under training for six months, was sent out to France.  Before long he was given a commission and was engaged in many operations through which he passed safely until, on October 21st 1916, he was killed while leading his men in an attack near Grandecourt.
