If Walls Could Talk: The... - BBC4 (2000): ...History of the Home. 1/4. The Living Room: Lucy Worsley looks at the history of the living room, from a medieval great hall to a grand country house and a Victorian parlour. [AD,S]
The Cricklewood Greats - BBC4 (2330): Peter Capaldi embarks upon a personal journey to discover the shocking history of the stars of North London's famous film studios. Including clips from rarely seen films. Also in HD. [S]
Coach Trip - CH4 (1730): En route to Friedrichshafen the coach picks up a new couple. Later the group is split for a Segway race - Brendan's favourite! In the afternoon they explore a Zeppelin museum.
The Men - CH4 (0400): Marlon Brando's screen debut is as a nihilistic patient in a ward of Second World War paraplegics. His fiancée (Teresa Wright) tries to give him a reason to live again. [S,SL]
In Living Memory - BBC RADIO4 (1100): Contemporary history series. 2/4. Chris Ledgard tells the story of the 1988 air show disaster at Ramstein, Germany, when three Italian aircraft collided and 67 spectators died.
Sport and the British - BBC RADIO4 (1345): Clare Balding presents a series charting sport in Britain. 8/30. The Formal Empire: Clare reveals how sport was spread throughout the British Empire.

Bookclub - BBC RADIO4 (1530): Art Spiegelman talks to James Naughtie and readers about his graphic novel Maus, the story of his father's life in Poland during the war and his survival of Auschwitz.

Flog It! - BBC2 (1545): The team visit Alnwick Castle in Northumberland. Among the antiques spotted are a Napoleonic style bicorn hat, Anita coral jewellery and a Dunhill lighter. [S]
Gardeners' Question Time - BBC RADIO4 (1500): Peter Gibbs chairs a gardening Q&A with the North Wales branch of the Cottage Garden Society. In addition, a report from a nursery with a long history of tropical plant-hunting.
Sport and the British: Omnibus - BBC RADIO4 (2100): Clare Balding charts how sport has shaped the British and how Britain has shaped sport. 2/6. How Victorian gentlemen wrote the rules, drew the lines and set up the leagues.
