Petardier

A petard is an early form of bomb. It is a brass container packed with gunpowder, nails and anything else sharp. Your job is to face enemy fire and plant your petard as close as you can to their camp. Then, you just light the fuse and run off as quickly as possible! Sounds too boring? No problem! The fuse for this primitive bomb is completely unreliable, so the petard might explode the minute you light it, or just a few seconds later, so you’re always dealing with the excitement of wondering whether each bomb will blow you into a thousand pieces or merely rip your limbs off. Maybe it won’t even go off at all: in which case you’ll have the job of going all the way back and recovering it for inspection.
