Davis sniffs for clues in our latest ‘History Mystery’<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This latest ActiveHistory Mystery<\/a>, which I used with my Year 8 students, is based\u00a0in the Middle Ages and involves cats’ bottoms, golden cups, mass murder and plenty of treachery…<\/h3>\n

The “History Mysteries<\/a>” lessons are designed as stand-alone projects which each last 3-4 hours.<\/p>\n

Through engaging historical topics, they teach skills of problem formulation, deductive reasoning, independent research, groupwork and structured writing.<\/p>\n

There is a standard\u00a0teacher lesson plan<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0student record sheet \/ markscheme<\/a>\u00a0for each activity.<\/p>\n
